Emperor hiding a lot?

Ny emperor scorpion is in it's 3rd instar, i know it hiding a lot is normal but what worries me is i was searching it's hide for dead bug parts today and i noticed he did not react at all to my presence, i got a little worried as he did not move at all so i used my small brush to poke him a little (i am aware i should not do this i was panicking) and he did not react until i gave him a small push then he got very defensive, is this normal?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It could be getting ready to molt or it could have just been feeling lazy. Check again in a few days and see how it's doing then.

Thank you for replying, i checked on him about 20 minutes later and he was fine, kept checking and he has been his normal ever since, just worried me that is all, i appreciate the advice
