Eggsac ID

I was out in my yard when I spotted this possible eggsac on a stone. It was surrounded by Argentine ants that were trying to rip at the sac. It was really dry outside, so I put the sac in a 16 oz deli cup with some dry eco earth at the bottom. I would appreciate any help identifying this egg sac (if it even is a egg sac) Thanks!!

Belatedly, the eggs themselves look a lot like snail eggs, but I've never seen snail eggs with a cocoon.
