From what I have read (I have no personal experience as of yet) they are going to need to shed once and then they will be in their first instar molt and look like real babies. Someone correct me if I am wrong please.
Tarantulas and Other Arachnids by Barrons books. Page 71 "Some tarantulas hatch as post embryos. At this stage they are all but helpless. In several days they will shed into first instar recognizable baby tarantulas. Others go throught the first molt in the eggsac."
Gail - you gotta love me for digging that off of the shelf
Gail is correctimo.
At first they are eggs with legs, and are not mobile, then, they molt and are BARELY mobile, still very fat abdomens, tiny short legs, and they don't motate well. then, they molt again, and look like little spiders. This is usually when they start dispersing, and depending on species, it can take several weeks to get to this stage.
This is not just what I've read, it's been my experience with 2 different eggsacs.
Hope that helps!
