Pulled my Heteroscodra maculata eggsack earlier this evening. It was made approximately 29 days ago, so i figured it was about time to pull it from the side of the female's cage and take a peek inside. (The second picture gives a little hint as to what is in store :D )

(into the incubator!)

Total eggcount: 115. 111 out of 115 were viable. 3 were dried up, and 1 was a blackened dud.

can't wait for 2nd instar.

Whoa tiger! Gotta wait for them to reach first instar first. :p

Nice job on the breeding!

yes i am very much aware that they are in the post-embryo stage.. but that doesn't change the fact that i can't wait to have a lot of little H macs running around lol

I can understand that. :) It would be awesome if this species was communal.

You know, i haven't been reading the discussion forums or the T announcement forums much lately. Has that been tried? never mind, i will do a search {D

if not, i will consider trying it with some of mine.

I would love to know how that goes, you should post a thread about it and keep us all updated.

I love this sp. but without an eggsac of my own I don't really have the means to facilitate such an experiment.

Although that will change once my subadult pair mature

i did, i keep 11 slings all together but i separate them after 2+" because i got scared that they might canibalize each other. also i got tired on counting them each time i feed them to make sure they are not canibalizing, so i separate them to keep my self from being worried.

but none got munched up until you separated them, correct?

i would be willing to give a shot, though i think i'm going to use a smaller number, maybe 5. if cannibalization is indeed a problem with this species, at least i won't have a large number of them in there to worry about.

anyways, thanks for the input :)
