Does androctonus bicolor sometime still eat even though its in premolt stage? mine seems eating whenever I offer him mealworm and he is really fat. he is definitely not adult. I never had androctonus still eating whenever its in premolt stage but just wondering if they will still eat even though they are in premolt.

Some just like to get extra chunky before they go into premolt. Did you watch the scorpion chew or only kill, It may have disposed of the potential threat in order to molt safely. I have had multiple tarantulas kill prey and then they just don't touch it, usually a sign they have recently entered premolt. Either way it is not something to worry about, your scorpion knows when to stop.

I crushed mealworm head and gave him a mealworm. he was chewing on it and took it in his hide

The fact that he was eating it means he has not entered premolt yet and that he probably isn't too stressed or he wouldn't eat regardless of premolt or not. I always worry about stressing out my T's but as long as that is a concern on your mind, you are on the right track. Stressing out an arachnid during late premolt and actual molting is where stress can be concerning, but that typically requires more than just opening the enclosure lid carefully.

In short, don't worry. Your scorp seems healthy and happy based on the information you provided.

Androctonus species are known for having incredibly painful and properly medically significant venom, not only to yourself but others. Please use the utmost caution when feeding/maintaining. Very cool scorpion, animal in general, but they do not mess around.
