Eastern Hognose Snake

When driving home from town today I noticed a Hoggy in the road so I moved it and got some pics.....

Here it is hissing and doing their usual bluff by spreading its neck like a cobra.


When the bluff doesnt work they play dead and musk everything LOL. Note that snake was released unharmed after taking pics

Interesting pic on top -- I've seen bull snakes flatten their necks like that as well.

we used to call them spreading adders lol i know they arent adders lol
they can give you a startle lol
did it puke on ya? if you keep messing with them aster they musk and roll over they will puke on ya lol...
