E. longiceps--too cute to be Old World tarantulas?

Here's my E. longiceps (African redrump tarantula). At the risk of alienating the masculine element on this forum, I just think the fuzzy "pants" on this species are too cute for words ;)

That is a cute spider..for some odd reason it reminds me of those guys in bright orange pants with straps sometimes standing in or to the side of pists.

Yes, I would imagine so, John. This appears to be an adult specimen, based on frequency of molting, although I have seen some that were a little larger (maybe 4-5").

And yes, Ed, they are definitely diggers!

No, this is an Old World species that doesn't possess urticating hairs. Maybe you are thinking about genus Megaphobema and the so-called Spinning Wheel of Death?

im not sure why, but the second i saw that i was reminded of the quiznos commercial with the first guy who wore pants.(dont know if anyone else knows what im talking about)
