It's very illegal... I'd suggest staying away from D. h. h. and look into Goliathus sp. Almost all nonnative, non-predatory beetles are illegal in the states.
Recently however, Goliathus was made legal.

Yes, it's very illegal to own these in the US, and even though there are people keeping and breeding them here secretly, you're gonna have a heck of a time trying to source them here. Your best bet would be importing from one of the big vendors in Japan or Taiwan, but it's all very illegal, so I wouldn't do it anyway.
