Last night I dug up my King Baboon. I hadn't seen her in 3 months. She had molted and was fine (alot bigger!). This morning I check on her and I see what I thought was dust in the water dish. On closer inspection they were moving. I never had this problem before. Could they have lived in the chamber with her? She was under ground with no visible opening to the chamber. I also ran out and got some crix and fed her 5 of them. I wonder if they came from the crix?

Could they be springtails? Springtails are somewhat elongated soil-dwelling insects that thrive in moist conditions and somtimes even move about on the surface tension of water. If they are springtails, they're harmless.

Crickets are known vectors for various mites, so it's possible that if they're mites that they came from crickets.
