My small dubia 'colony' isn't quite established yet. But when I notice males with ragged wings, I will feed them off. Pictured is one of said males I pulled. I usually separate them, gut load them, and feed them off. But this male had a protrusion I've never seen before. If I remember correctly, dubias mate using their 'ends' - is this just some male genitalia hanging out? To me, it looked like a parasite and I became paranoid that my colony was compromised. Any insight on this?
