Dubia feeding & calcium?

Hey guys, I have a friend who has a dubia colony and recently gave me a few as food for my rosie. My question is regarding feeding the roaches and using insect gutload powder along with the apple, dog food, carrots, etc...that I already feed the roaches. Is the gutload even needed? I have a leopard gecko, so I'm up to speed on the whole herp/calcium thing and know there is debate on T's and calcium. But I'm not messing with adding the gutload powder to the dubia's diet if it's not needed. What do the roach keepers have to say?

Thanks,

Hi, if you want to gutload your roaches before feeding them off to your leopard geckos, that's fine.
as for feeding them to the rosie tarantula, i wouldn't gutload them, especially when you said that there is a lot of calcium in the gutload.
I hope that answer your questions

Gutloading is unnecessary for feeding to inverts. Its intention is to compensate for the lower calcium absorbtion that occurs with herps in captivity.

Tarantulas are, as you've probably noticed, not considered herps and require very little calcium in their diet.

That's what I thought also, but since I'm still a new T keeper and even newer roach keeper I just had to ask. :D

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it...

Code Monkey hit the nail on the head. Feeding roaches to T's, no dust required. Feeding roaches to geckoes, then use dust; though I think it's debatable. I raised leopeard geckoes for several years and only occasionally dusted the roach itself, never used gutload, and had no issues breeding / rearing them.
