This isn't something I'm planning on doing just a hypothetical question.

Could a fishing spider, if provided then correct habitat, live atop an aquarium? Or would the warm tropical water/constant bubbling churning surface, hungry aquarium fish or whatever be a problem.

Again this isnt something I wanna do, just brain farting! I don't even have any fish, or a fishing spider hahaha, although my lps does have one!! I didn't even know they were bred for pets or are they wild caught?

I don't know if there are any species of fishing spiders in the UK where you live, but the idea that fishing spiders actually fish is quite misleading. Yes, they can catch fish, but it's highly dangerous for them to do so since prey will fight and probably try to eat them back. Not to mention that fishing spiders have very poor accuracy when catching fish as they will miss almost all the time. In the wild, their diet is highly just insects and bugs and not much of fish. Most fishing spiders in the wild will hardly catch fish since it's dangerous for them in many ways.

So to answer your question. Yes, they can catch fish, but no they will hardly ever do so since catching fish is very, very, very, slim and most of the times they won't actually target fish but rather other insects and bugs instead. Fishing spiders are cool as there are a few species of them where I live, but a lot misconception can happen sometimes.

Not a scenario that would play out successfully.
