So I noticed my GBB has never really spent time near her water dish, and has always made her web on the opposite side of the enclosure, yesterday I added in some more anchor points for her to web to and moves the water dish to the other side and now she has moved to the opposite side of it... do they need the water dish or can they do fine without?

What i been told is that GBB thrives in dry enclosure so dont mist or anything but many people i talked to recommended to keep a water dish in the enclosure and when needs a refill then overflow it a bit. So i would leave the water dish for it as i do for mine and mine is doing really well, eating good and webbing good. :)

Yep, all T’s require or greatly benefit from a water dish, you just don’t see them drink regularly but they will come out and do so.

Being that GBB’s are from an arid environ yours probably just doesn’t want to be that near to a source of moisture, I wouldn’t worry.

I put a water dish in mine. Seems to avoid it but it isn't harmful and probably good to have. Every living thing needs water.

They need a dish. My AF setup like yours and I see her drink.

Also unless your watching your T 24/7 literally, you can’t say it doesn’t drink etc etc

Water dish required. As others have said, you can't possibly know if your T drinks or may need to drink in the future.

All tarantulas need a water dish. Some never see their Ts drink but they still need a water dish, kept clean and full

I overfill my GBBs water dish once a month, not much but a wee bit
