Do tarantulas never leave their burrow?

They stay outside their burrow if you give them a small enclosure. The tarantula wants to feel secure, and in a small enclosure, it'll feel secure, so it won't hide.

The slings definitely burrow. You will not see them as often unless you setup your substrate to convince them to burrow next to the plastic. Adults do not stay in the burrows much unless you are disturbing one with a more skittish personality.

give yours a crumbled ball of paper to move around. This species seems to "play" with balls more than most others.
Just tried this, I put it outside her hide and she dragged it into her hide, guarded it for a bit, decided it wasn't worth protecting and then dumped it outside lol.
