Hello, everyone. Recently my isopod's substrate molded. It has been recommended to me that I add springtails to their enclosure, but I was just wondering - Do springtails only eat mold that's on top of the substrate - e.g mold on leaves, wood, ect, or do they also eat the mold in the substrate of the isopod's enclosure?

Thanks,
-SkittlesTheJumpingSpider
I was outside and found some isopods and caught them and picked up some dirt on the ground and put them in an enclosure together with the dirt, turns out there were springtails in with the dirt, I've had them for months (and even had baby isopods 🥺🥺) and there's been no mold so far!

Sorry haha. Is this mold specifically bad, or just a common occurrence?
Its pretty harmless, just spot clean it as it mostly just appears on the surface of substrate. I mostly get this mold when i moisten my isopods substrate and they dont finish all their food.
