Do giant Centipedes climb smooth surfaces?

Hi can i keep one in a giant tupperware container i can get at walmart? also can i keep them in a large cricket keeper?

They cannot climb smooth surfaces, but they can extend their full body length up the side of the enclosure. I wouldn't recommend a critter keeper since if it does get to the top it could squeeze it's way out. A large Tupperware could be safe if it is tall enough.

Since you're going to Walmart though, take a look at their jars. I got a gallon size jar for less than $5. Screw top lid plus tall enclosure is the ultimate in pede security.

As above no they can't. It won't affect you but they can and will climb up silicone holding glass together though.

If you're getting one of the giants please make sure you get a huge tub. They're extremely active unlike T's and require plenty of room.

just remember, when the soil dries out the centipede dies. they cannot retain moisture
