Just to make sure we're clear on exactly what kind of creature you have, you mean a Pholcid / cellar spider and not Opiliones / harvestman, correct?

no, but you could do a basic Wikipedia search or search the forum for similar questions that have been answered already

and be more precise with your questions, look up the scientific names then no one can misunderstand you

i think this question for example has been asked a dozen times already in one form or another

Do I post to much?
No. However, the moderators will probably appreciate it if you combine multiple consecutive posts into single posts.
For example, I am now about to comment on feeding your pholcid, but without starting a new post.

The webs of Pholcidae do not have stickiness or adhesive properties to them, so trapping prey depends on the prey getting tangled. Therefore, they need to have built sufficiently elaborate webs to trap prey.
How does your spider's web look? Do the flies get stuck in its web? How does the spider react? Can you post a picture?

Is this spider that we're talking about Pholcus phalangioides?

Some Pholcid species primarily feed on other spiders, and not much on insects.

Oof ok umm that's going to be a little bit difficult getting other spiders.
That's not what I'm suggesting, and these pholcids I'm talking about are quite species-specific in their predatory habits.
Pholcus phalangioides is very common, probably what you have, and it will eat flies.

Pholcus phalangioides care:

Release in your bedroom. Next to your window. Open the window occasionally. Done.

That's funny, but it's also true! I have a bunch of them living in my basement, and I never do anything for them.

see now, instead of making another post right after the first one use EDIT and add the question there, like DaveM said the mods don't like to see double posts

no consecutive posts by a single user, if you can add your next question with the first post via EDIT

Yes, when people say 'daddy long legs' they usually mean harvestmen, which aren't spiders, but we clarified that this silly cave cricket is indeed talking about a pholcid, which of course is a spider.

The name Daddy-long-legs can mean so many things. Where I come from it means Harvestmen, or cellar spider. When I lived in Wales🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿, they called crane flies Daddy-long-legs. And my grandma basically calls any long legged arachnid Daddy-long legs.

Yes,
