Hi,
Those who obtained C schmidti “Ke bang” 4-5 inch WC pairs, how is your experience so far? Any luck with breeding?

I have a mature male and one of my females just molted about 3 weeks ago, i was going to try and pair them this weekend.

Im not sure how long the males live but he has only been mature since February and is already balding. I have an immature male also.

Is your male mature?

The pairs they have are not mature. High chance one of the females came in and dropped a sac.

I have WC pair. They are both about same size 4”. Male is immature so I assume female is not mature yet. Good luck with pairing yours. Let me know how it went.

I think you gotta check the molt of the female . To see if it’s mature, I forgot how to spell the exact word…🫠

Thank you. Yes, I will definitely check spermatheca when she molt. Male and female are about same size now so I hope she will mature before he dies. The male will definitely mature next molt. I need to find a way how to slow him down and speed up her growth.

I’ve tried that but not for breeding just to extend the males lifespan but it’s a little late penultimate. If you understand, growth rates, and feeding and temperature you can surely slow him down a little bit . I didn’t do it intentionally my roach colony died off , 😥.. had to get a new colony. Although I did feed them slightly less often in the females.

Successful insertion today with my pair, it took like a whole 5 seconds. The male stuck his legs in her burrow and she came right out. Easiest pairing I ever did.

Great! The female was not aggressive after insertion? He escaped by himself or you had to guard the male?

IME, you're waaaaay too far past the point of being able to control growth rates. That process has to be started as early in life as possible as it will take quite some time for the female to get even one molt ahead. Ideally, you'll need them sexed before they're about 25% max DLS, but the sooner the better.

You'll have to pair the female small. She'll likely be mature as she's already around 75% max DLS, however she'll likely be the same size or smaller than the male (which presents a risk of cannibalism both ways) and might not produce as large of a clutch as one might hope.

Not aggressive at all. I have a video but it won’t upload. I posted it on my instagram.

I tried it once eggs unfortunately didn’t turn out bad luck . I don’t have tools to sex Them at 2” or under, how expensive are they ?
