Could anyone offer some insight on this species? I haven't seen a lot of specific care information about this species, but would they be similar to C. minax, etc?

Yes. I keep 7 Cyriopagopoeus species, including paganus, all w/h deep substrate. To help retain soil moisture I add a small amount of vermiculite.

You don't need vermiculite. Just use something that holds humitidy like peat moss.
