Crested geckos?

Why do all these geckos Iv seen have no tails?...Are they just born wiht not tail or is it a result of abuse?...I dont understand becasue not all the crested geckos have lost there tails...Just a majority

Crested gecko tails don't grow back if they drop them, and they can drop tails for any of the reasons other lizards do. Most wild crested gecko adults have no tails.

Oh...So most of the ones im seeing must be wild caught...Thank you for clearing that up for me..I assumed all these geckos i was seeing that had no tails were being abused..I had no idea that they dont grow back..Im anloe owner and my anole had no tail when bought bu it grew back.

No the tailless ones you are seeing are more then likely CB. Only a very small number of them in the hobby are WC.

Last night I went to mist on of my tanks and one of the males was spooked and ran around like a track start shooting his tail off like a rocket. So now I am the proud owner of a tailless male through no real fault of my own.

They lose their tails pretty easily. It's not a result of abuse nor are they WC. I had two females housed together, and the piggier one ate the tail off the other one. Whoops. I was checking the calcium sacs on a baby male, and his fell off just from the stress of being restrained. I have a tailless male and a tailless female right now, and funny thing, they are a mating pair. :)
