I like ‘Truffles’ so cute! It’s one I snagged from cold blood a few months back.

Dark Crystal, omg, that movie was awesome. The little regalis is gonna get a name, not sure how regal it will end up as. 😁. My ow tend to get risqué names for some crazy reason. My C. darlingi is named ‘Me’so’ after a 2 Live Crew song and of course there’s the obt. 🙈🙊🙉
I love both the film and series love anything like that 😁
That's a great idea risqué names for ow 😍 I may have to use that idea when I start with them 😁
Maybe call the pokie mo'fu' 🤣🤣🤣 and I know that song 😆 years since I have heard it , I like your style Craig 😁

Rehoused the G. Rosea RCF, made four enclosures for psalm rehousing tomorrow, had a molt today from the T. sp. panama and one of the D. diamantinensis made an appearance. Pretty decent day.

Didn’t quite know what to expect with the Grammostola rehousing, no hair kicking and it cooperated. No freak outs on my end, nicely done.

What a productive day, exhausted.

Rehoused:
  • 4 Psalmopoeus
  • 2 G. pulchra
  • 1 A. avicularia M6
Won’t lie, the psalms had me on high alert, but turned out far simpler than what I had made it out to be. The most nerve racking part was taking the cork bark out so I would get to them. Nobody bolted or copped an attitude. While the Amac box isn’t my favorite, these are temporary for the next two molts or so before getting more permanent homes.

I see a shelf remodel coming up this summer, containers are getting taller and longer.

Webbing, not something I generally touch, that stuff is strong! Finally not the bullet and started the A. minatrix eviction. Had plans to do it awhile back, but it’s a hands-on deal and the head space had to be right.

I had glued the bark to the back of the enclosure and knew I needed to go in with hands. Not exactly fun not knowing if the spood would dart out one of two ends. Luckily it wasn’t bad and the T stayed put. Onto the next phase…

The entire inside of the cork tube was webbed. Zero clue on where in the mess the spood was did not give me good feelings. I’ve gotta go in like a back alley surgeon with tongs in both hands and somehow extract the freak. 30 minutes later I had a spood in a cup. Reused the bark, got the little guy into his smaller enclosure and called it a wrap. Another transfer under my belt.

You don’t see many of these bad boys around, Psalmopoeus ecclesiasticus. Overall reclusive and rare I get a glimpse.
