So sorry for all your losses. We had 2.5 hours of blackouts, cummulatively and all my T's, centipedes and scorpions have faired well. Reading your ordeal, I consider myself fortunate.

Our lows were in the mid teens w/ 1.5" ice and snow. Our pipes didn't burst or freeze but I know many people without water because of the lasting cold.temps. This was one for the record books.

Take care. You sound so tough, I'm sure you'll make it through fine.

One needs a 2000w generator to run a space heater the size needed for a room. Those run about $500-$800... A self-contained runs 6 hours on a tank of gas and cannot be run indoors, the generator would have to be outdoors with a cord run it.

Yes, I've given it thought - it's not something I expected to have to do.
