Hi all, was thinking of getting a colony of springtails for my enclosures, not for my 'dry' ones but for the T's where I overfill the water dish a little bit I get the odd small white fungal outbreak that lasts a few days then disappears. Is it worth it? They are cheap here in the U.K, just wondering if there are any disadvantages to them...

In my experience there are no disadvantages wth springtales...
I keep them in all my tropical enclosures together with isopods and they keep the enclosures clean.

No downsides to utilizing springtails, but keep in mind that if the enclosure gets too dry, they'll start to die off. Just overflowing the water dish a bit may not provide enough moisture for them to thrive.

Did you try using the search function of the site? If so, what did or didn't work about it?

I just got some springtails in the mail today. As others have said, it needs to be at least damp for them to survive. They actually have gills, remember that.
