To like a tarantula I have to see a tarantula. I don't like species that stay hidden all the time so my list contains only species that are out and about at least at times (no particular order):

1. Acanthoscurria geniculata - The Murderess.
2. Megaphobema mesomelas - even more murderous.
3. Avicularia huriana - the queen of fluff
4. Thrixopelma cyaneolum - oh so blue, and very docile
5. Grammostola pulchra - moving the earth
6. Pterinochilus chordatus - patterns in grey and black
7. Tapinauchenius sanctivincenti - shiny purple fluff, very curious
8. Psalmopoeus irminia - the best feet ever
9. Lasiodora klugi - the black and red murder tank
10. Nhandu chromatus - the most colorful murderess
11. Poecilotheria rufilata - the green tree bark spider

(ok, I cheated...)

No particular order of course.

Poecilotheria rufilata
Lampropelma nigerrimum
Psalmopoeus cambridgei
Tapinauchenius violaceus
Stromatopelma calceatum
Heteroscodra maculata
Encyocratella olivacea
Selenocosmia arndsti
Lyrognathus crotalus
Aphonopelma hentzi

Yup. Hentzi. You heard right. I see thousands of them every year while herping. Seeing tarantulas in the wild is great. Slings, burrows, molts, eggsacs, wandering males.... It's way more rewarding to witness them in the wild.

Please excuse the double post, folks. If a mod wishes to delete my first post, that would be great. Have a good one, all!
