Hey, congratulations! How many babies do you think? I don't believe the tail moving signifies anything, I think it is just hanging there. Kind of like if we hang are arm down, hard to keep it still. But you never know.

Going by my own observations, it looks to me like scorpions not only feel vibrations but subtle air currents. The more communal or at least tolerant of other ones like some Centruroides, Pandinus and Heterometrus wave their tail when they catch food, the others close by do react to it. I think it's a way of saying, "Hey stay away from me, I'm busy, this is my cricket or ...leave my babies alone!"

gotcha. i know this one genus... cannot spell or remember the name, starts with an o, from the middle east uses their tails like antennae, and i figured it was something similar here.

Congrats on the brood. I'm glad I'm not the only guy in Ohio producing scorpion broods.

im definitely settling down now and wanting to get breeding groups together. gonna focus on B. jacksoni and bark scorpions :p

Also doing a trade with a guy on here who mentioned you as being Columbus's premier guy.. Getting a gravid gracilis from him.

nope not yours! Well, might be, i got these from a certain big name vendor at a reptile show! The other male and female I had died shortly after I got them, but this person had them all for a long while, so they could have been old. :/

and i really didnt think i'd like this specie as much as i do.

Glad to see my C sculps are treating you nice <3

Pshh, this species hasn't all been great. I had two bad broods of 2 and 3 respectively.

And that last gracilis brood I posted failed, she abandoned them and they were dead when I got to them. Only two survived.

But, I'm expecting another brood of these guys within the next week or so. :p
