Caught a wild floridian toad in my kitchen

He seems pretty cool. I wanna put him in a cage with some proper husbandry and water. I don't know what species he is. He's pretty small compared to those I've seen, some nice grey camo patterns. lets give him a chance yeah? (I'm not giving you a choice).


So I set him up with water, peat moss, a rock for land, and a plastic deli cup hide. the water is half his height or so- hes got his little deli cup to shelter in. he's scared but to be honest he seems actually pretty smart. I can see the little patient thinker in him. Picture incoming. I'm wondering what to feed him, and if crickets twitching in the water will be good enough for him.



He's clearly some sort of florida gopher frog.

Very cute little guy/gal :) I live in FL and recognize them well! Glad he's back out in the wild though.
