Care to help me pick some T's with this craigslist ad?

I'm not sure if any of these T's are worth pursuing. I dont really want the OBT (not yet, at least) but the others are intriguing. Oh, I do have 3 B. Albos already so I dont need those...its just a very vague and odd ad and I'm a wee bit confused. Thoughts on cost and whatnot? I've never done a CL T purchase and I'd appreciate any pointers, too.

I will check for parasites, mold, and deformities.
I can probably strike a bargain with him, too...

Well, if you're planning to breed them, I'd stay away from the "undersexed" brown curly hair. I don't think they make a Viagra equivalent for arachnids. :troll:

The large, mislabeled female mystery tarantula is intriguing.

As far as Craigslist tarantulas go, I've bought a fair amount that way. The one thing I noticed was that almost all of the "unsexed" tarantulas hooked out male within a year or so. I suspect that people may be molt-sexing their spiders as male, then dumping them as "unsexed" - but that's just a theory.

That CL ad is a hot mess and I wouldn't buy any of it. The OBT is overpriced and you already have 3 B albopilosum. What the heck is a Costa Rican Red Runner? If it's a Brachypelma angustustum (Costa Rica Red), that's a maybe. But considering the rest, I'd guess it's not. Some CL ads are best left uncalled.

If you're up for a drive, there is a show in Monroe, WA on May 13th. Saturday only 10-5. I know for a fact there will be a good assortment of tarantulas at this one. Could be a good weekend trip for you.

Those are terrible prices for a CL ad. I wouldn't pay that at an expo. Move on from this one.

Agreed. I get tarantulas through CL quite often, at least once per month. I'd say that three quarters turn out to be male. I've had a couple instances where they were advertised as female, only for me to show up and the spider is sporting boxing gloves  But I always talk them down in price. Asking $20? Nah mate, $5. Most of the time, I get the spider because they've been trying to sell it for months. I've got a little shelf of hybrids/unknowns/males all rescued from CL.

Idaho has very little in the T realm...this is the first Boise-ish AD I've seen on CL since I've been in the hobby. I will go ahead, heed your advice, and not pursue any further.
@Walker253 : I will be unable to venture that way next week but I would like to attend a show (I've never been!) so I plan to hit up one or more of the upcoming events. How did you learn about this event? Is there a good place on the forums (a thread, a listing, etc.) or somewhere else on the web that I can make my next field trip plans?

Thanks folks for your input!

There is a pretty good network of keepers, breeders and sellers in Western Washington and Oregon. Between the Seattle and Portland areas, there are 4-5 good shows a year. PM me for more information
