It looks obvious to me, but since it's my first look with my new microscope I wanted to check in with the experts. This is a 4" molt from a L. violaceopes. Thanks for looking

Thanks for that info - - I'll definitely keep it in mind in the future.Sometimes it helps to take pics when dry or just moist as opposed to very wet. While the water separates and brings out some things it also tends to make some things transparent and gives funny depth perception. In some instances back lighting can reveal otherwise lost perspectives. No one way works best, different details will become apparent with each.
