Can you collect inverts, (Tarantulas) on BLM owned public lands?

Hello, I have been asking this question everywhere, can you collect inverts on public lands owned by the BLM without getting into hot water and needing a permit?

I have worked with the BLM a couple times and asked the I got answer was they did not mind if it was just a few inverts for my personal collection but it may be different where you are

You need to check with the people who manage the land in your area. Anything else is second hand info and thus suspect.

Don't steal from my large personal collection, or I'll call my Uncle Sam ;)

Technically you would need a collecting permit however they generally will not say anything about a few specimens if collecting in an appropriate manner.
