Can just dry eco earth work with a darkling beetle and blue death feigning beetle?

I have a new tank I’m setting up and have some dry eco earth on hand I was wondering if I could just use a layer of that? or does it have to be Sand.

Then they should be fine on dry coco fiber, make sure to give them some places to hide

They have all sorts of mosses,bark,hides
