Hey,

This pic is from one of my friends from Germany..he found it in one of his reptile tanks.

Any of you guys know the ID on it?

Chould it be Hottentotta conspersus ? the carapace markings looks alot like it.. hmm might wanna swing this by Venomlist they might have a better idea..

It has a subacular tubercle on the telson. That means it is most likely a Centruroides sp. or Tityus sp.

I lean toward Tityus sp.

Hmmm didnt even notice that.. good eyes you have there.. with that out in the open, i whould say tityus sp as well..

I would say thats a nice small Centruroides species!!! looks to be of the mesic variety as well!!!

My guess

Centruroides Arctimanus
Metasomal segments not same shapes, head wrong proportions, some sort of keel down the main part of the mesosoma on the un-ID scorpion.

IMO I don't think so...

Color patterns way off...yeah not best indicator but still way off.

I am leaning towards Centruroides and that's about all I can say about it. Strange story, he "just found" this is in his reptile tank? Wish I did :D

I know what was said above, but why when i look at that does it scream "Lychas sp."... maybe im just tired.

He thinks its possible it might have gotten into his luggage while he was on vacation in cuba.

Im sorry, i dont know why i posted "Lychas" i meant Isometrus. And arent those local to Cuba?

EDIT- After looking at a website for reference, im going to have to say my guess is a juvenile Centruroides arctimanus. Not sure if i can post the link of reference if not let me know ill edit, but it was the scorpion fauna. It has a picture of Centruroides arctimanus juvenile from Cuba and its identical.
