Ok guys, I have my dads old macro lens and I want to know what it fits.
Maybe how much it goes for too, or anyone interested. I'm not posting this as a sell thread just really want to get a cam that uses it.
I think he said it was a 35mm not 100% though

Are you sure it's a macro lens?

from my 35mm days.. 28mm = Wide Angle.
The f 2.8 is nice though.

Macro depends on its reproduction ratio. If it is 1:2 or better (1:1 is life size) it can be considered a macro. An Olympus camera fits an Olympus lens.

As said before it is a wide angle Olympus lens lens. And pretty average one at that

it has the min focusing of about 2 feet, so it is not a micro. It is a the kit lens for the om1 cameras from the 60-70s.

Need to look up if it will work with anything new.

It was a format camera

So just pulled it up.

No it will not work with anything but the om1 series. No new digtal will work with out the adapter, which they make but it is point less to use.

That is the bad news.

The good news.

Om1 lens are not that avaible and I bet noone works on them anymore.

So a working lens can probably go for a few hunderd bucks, I would say 120 min and 300 max.

So atleast it is useful. OF course if you have a om camera then you are set.

OK question:

Are you looking to buy a camera just to use this lens??

that makes little sense finacially and/or functionally.

It it is for sentimental reasons then best of luck to you.

Do you want to get into 35mm photography?

I guess I'm asking for more input as to your motives. ( to help ) :)

Well, I wanted to know if I could convert to use it on a digi. If its not a macro then I'm not going to bother with it. No sentimental value, just curious.

So this could sell for up to 300 bucks?

I wanted to do more research, I found an identicle one online on ebay just had G. Zuiko on it and was selling for 450.

I wanted this purely to take very close up shots of my scorps and bugs in general.

If I can get over a hundred bucks or more out of it I'd love to sell it.

Edit,
We have a load of lenses around the house somewhere for the om cam. Just that about 10 years ago the cam was stolen
