I have a question about Cupiennius salei. Due to the reddish color component (ventral), there is a sexual dimorphism. Males lack the red. Is this also the case in the juvenile stages or can males also have a reddish tint on the sternum and coxae during development?

Done; if anyone is interested: red = female, no matter which stage.

Interesting, I've always wondered if this is the case with pokies too. If you watch p. Metallica breeding videos, the males almost always have a line going down the white patch of their abdomen, while females have an almost completely white band. I was wondering since my p. Metallica juvie lacks the stripe, if it will regain it in his final molt, as when I checked out his molt I did not see any female parts.

since this species is sexually dimorphism, can you tell from early stages or will they change colors on the last molt? i have one and he looks male but i’m unsure how to tell for sure if he is male or female.

Thats a sub male, you can clearly See the bulbs developing.
I have no Info about the reddish but the Carapax dimorphism starts showing AT around 2cm bodylength.
From then on, the males are brighter and the females go dark. The Tiger patterns are no clear sign, the Males can show them Till sub Stage (!).
I got tricked by coloration twice so Hard to keep them apart.

I go with the Carapax but if the reddish works, seems to be the best Option.

Nope, it is a common mistake, i fell for it at first too since it is harder to find pictures of MM without the stripe but the male juvies that loose it early don't regain it later as they mature, they are simply males without the central folio stripe.
