nice juicy caterpillars...

I always thought cabbage whites (is that what they are?) tasted badly & thats why we have so many of them... I guess the wasps don't care?

I find them in my garden too... nice juicy caterpillars... I wonder about them for spiders but then think about the taste... maybe I will give them a try!

I see the cabbage whites here lay their eggs on wild mustard. No cabbage unless someone grows it in their garden.

I think of them as mustard eaters too but in my yard a few are eating hollyhocks.

But seeing Tleilaxu's success, I may go get some cabbage and plant it... plump & juicy home grown feeders!

The great thing is, mustard and cabbage are in the same plant family. There are a lot of plants in the family, and the cabbage moths don't seem too particular on what they eat.
