So Ive been waiting 6 months for my B. Albiceps to molt and she finally flipped over yesterday. The bad thing is that she is about half stuck in her molt. She's still alive, Is there really anything I can do? I also believe something tore/broke too cause there's a good amount of blood underneath her as well. :8o

Oh I'm so sorry :(

Can you cut off some of the molt off? To maybe help her?
Can you maybe repair the damage with crayz glue or liquid band-aid?

I'm sure people with more experience in this will chime in soon. :(

Thats to bad, there is nothing much you can do, but you can try carefully moving her and do a little surgery with super glue:8o

You should up the humidity in the enclosure, this will help soften the exo...then help her out of it.

Well got home from work after raising the humidity and she was still stuck I tried to get her via tarantula surgery but she was too stuck :'( . Between the two broken legs and the rest of the front legs and palps stuck and her overwhelming stress and weakness I made the extremely hard decision to end her life via freezer. Pleas I don't wanna hear "how could you do that" stuff it was extremely hard to do that to a beautiful T and it truly breaks my heart. R.I.P B. Albiceps

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Even if they are "just inverts", it is a loss. One of my greatest fears is to find one of mine stuck in a molt.

I always like to boost humidity when I have a tarantula in pre-molt.

I'm sure no one will give you that, you have done nothing wrong, and it was probably the right thing to do. I'm sorry for your loss, their not just spiders, their PETS, and it's hard to lose them.:(

It's just one of those things that's bound to happen if you are in the hobby long enough. Sorry.

I would also like to say with all that's happened I got a wonderful surprise. My avicularia Purpurea molted into a huge female. And it was a ray of light in a dark time
