I found a bunch of these on a thistle. Anyone know what they are?

They aren't aphids..
Some young hemiptera , I'll assume the brown one is an adult one

i see those here all the time(i think... cant really see the whole adult bug) leave a bad sent on ya if you touch them so here we just call them stink bugs.......or thats what i think they are anyways

They aren't "true" stink bugs -- those tend to be a lot more broadly-shaped.

A lot of Hemiptera will leave a stink on you, though (a lot of Coleoptera, too, so some people wind up calling beetles stink "bugs" ).

yeah, that is true,also some assassins can stink ya too,nasty smell

Those are the nymphs of some kind of cactus bug I believe. The cactus bug nymphs I catch primarily feed on prickly pear cacti and don't have the spines however.
