Bug hunt find

Went out looking for Hogna last night with the 9 year old and found this little guy, think he's some sort of mili given the lack of pede parts but no idea what. Found in central north carolina. 20170529_094204.jpg

Lovely find! I'd say that's Apheloria tigana, but Xytodesmid millipedes all look very similar.

Based on the appearance and where you found the millipede, I'd say that's definitely Apheloria tigana! :) May I ask where specifically you found the millipede (on a tree, among dry leaves, etc.)? I'm trying to figure out the best husbandry set-up for them.

Looks really similar to Haraphe haydeniana up here in the Pacific Northwest. Find them crawling around rotten old logs with moss.
