I have a pet brown recluse spider and was wanting to know if anybody has any suggestions to get him to eat. I know their metabolism is very slow, able to go without foor for months. But I've had him for about a couple of months and I have thrown crickets in there but the crickets just end up dying. Any advise? Please help.

Is it a mature male? if so, he probably won't eat any longer- he wants to mate and then expire. If it is a subadult spider or a female, then you really should have no problem getting it to eat. I don't think I've ever had one that wouldn't eat a cricket- they are pigs for sure. Make sure the crickets are pretty small, as recluses do tend to get shy when the intended food item is too big and powerful.

Any pics of the spider? Setup?
