Here is a picture of my Brazilian Giant Blonde (Nhandu vulpinus) hanging out in front of his burrow's entrance.

When burrowing do tarantulas normally hang out at the entrance or this what they do when they are hungry and they wait foir food to pass by and ambush them? enjoy the picture. I'll take better ones when I can.

Nice pic! It really does blend in well with the substrate, doesn't it? It might be doing that because it is looking for food. Many slings and juvies hang out just outside the entrance like that. As it gets bigger, it will spend more and more time out in the open.

Now can you imagine if I never misted the substrate for this tarantula? the substrate would be as light as the spider and I would have never got a good shot lol
