As some of you know there are two different forms of Brachypelma hamorii in the hobby. Throughout the years some hobbyists think they have a B. smithi in their collection do to the dark red coloration markings on the patella. I sometimes wonder why some hobbyists just don’t take the time to do a bit of research of finding out of where their specimens originated from. Just because a specimen hamorii has a reddish patella marking doesn’t mean is a B. smithi.

All specimens are two weeks post molt when they were photographed. The specimens on these photos are clearly visible so you’re able to see the differences between each color variant of the adult females. Unfortunately I only have photos of one of the variants hamorii mature male. I know eventually I’ll get my hands on the other color variant of hamorii male. And when I do and it matures I’ll be posting photos of him. For now this is what I have available to share with you of both different color variants of the B. hamorii

What if you have of that looks like a variant of both colors, red in the front and orange in the back? Btw, this is a 6 inch DLS prenult male. Going to be huge for a mature male from what I been reading.
