Brachypelma albiceps premolt ?

hi guys would u say my Brachypelma albiceps is going to molt soon ?it refused food 2 days ago and its bold spot has turned black how long do u guys think it will be befor it molts :confused: we have had it 6 months and so far it has not molted she/he is about 3" il post some pic and can u tell from these photos whether he/she is boy or girl lol im very knew to this im thinking girl maybe:? what do u all think

Definate heavy premolt...but no idea on the sex...pics way to blurry

ok thanks i will try and sex it from the molt (hopefully wont be waiting to long for it ) will post more pics when its molted ,would u say it will molt in the next few days :confused: or will it not happen for weeks ? it only turned black in the last couple of weeks and been off its food for a week ,iv heard they can be in pre molt for weeks/months ?? thanks again :D

There's no guaranteed timetable here (i.e. "the shade of black that abdomen has means it will molt in 2 days, 3 days, etc...") but once it gets black like your spider's is, I'd be expecting it any day now. But that any day now could be more like any week now. Patience is not only a virtue, but is also key in a hobby such as this.

In my experience with my B. albiceps and hey.. every other brachy for that matter.

They do NOTHING in a hurry.

A lot depends on your feeding schedules, temperatures, etc...

I'd be inclined to believe that each subsequent molt would be on a different timeline with each individual spider, especially the bigger they get.
