I don't know how to make the big pretty links that have a thumbnail, but below is a link to more info.
Boise Bug Day
I went to Boise's very own "Bug Day!" it was fun, but lacking in some respects, especially at $14 a ticket. But I do believe the proceeds help fund natural conservation, so I didn't mind spending the money. The event took place in the Boise Botanical Gardens. in Terms of live bugs available to observe, here is the roll call:
General:
What made the even worthwhile in the end, was the large booth by Idaho's Museum of Natural History. They had several cabinets laid out containing hundreds of preserved species of beetles, bees, and butterflies. They even put one together containing only species of beetles that can be found in Idaho, and I love beetles! So that was nice to have out. I also made some connections and possible volunteering opportunities; lots of business cards from curators and entomologists alike! Apparently, they have loads of work every day in describing species of beetles given to them from around Idaho and are the main people doing the work here. So, i will definitely being trying to get involved.
