Can someone explain how a good size male can go from a great body mass to a skinny anorexic (for a lack of a better word) thin bodied tarantula after a single molt when before that molt they had a "normal" body?

And how are there brains structed so tight that they rather mate than eat..Especially after a molt... and if I'm correct they don't even have a last meal because they spend their last 6 - 8 months alive looking a mate or two until they die.

Try not to think of it as month, Ts in general can live several months to years without food. Imagine if you were told you only had a few hours left to live, would you spend it trying to get a last meal or trying to have sex?

it's just the natural drive. wired in to them you might say. course, as we may think with our last times, sex, not food, they might just go for it and not even think about it. just natural. it's how they've survived for so long.
