Hello,
I've had an AFS for about 2months now and everything seems to be going as planned. I just wanted to post and make sure everything was on the up and up as far as everything I've researched and to make sure I'm on the correct path to a happy and healthy scorpion.
I've upgraded the tank size to a 20g. and added 6in to 3in of substrate. I have live moss, plants, and real wood. I've also added isopods and springtails for a clean up crew. Because of the bigger size tank, now the temp sits around 75f on one side, and 70f on the other. Just today I added a plant light with Red/Blue, red, or blue options.
Also, I feed with crickets. I try to keep at least 2-3 in the tank and she (Rosy the scorpion) seems to be eating.

Sorry for the long post. I guess my biggest questions that I have, that I haven't found answers to are

Is it okay to keep crickets in the tank, as long as I know Rosy isn't moulding?

Is the BLUE (not black light) okay? I know red is practically invisible to them.

And what is a good way to judge how many isopods and springtails I should have in a tank?

Try to bump up the temp to 75-85⁰F.
Also no need to keep multiple crickets in there at all time. One appropriately sized meal every 1-2 weeks is sufficient. Otherwise not all of them will be eaten and may cause problems when molting, even if you don't know they're in there.
In my opinion, the light isn't that important as long as there are enough dark hides and all the light is off at night.

If you have plants you will need a good bright daylight lamp, unless you have the very low light type of plants.

Just connect the light to a timer and have it going off around dusk, your scorpion won't appear until it senses the evening, lower pressure, lower light levels etc.
