IMO if it slithers it makes a good pet they just all have some differences you need to respect.I am thinking of getting a blood python. Do they make good pets. I am experienced with redtail boas and burmese pythons. How do the compare temperment wise?
Thanks, Blane

This should help you alot........
Good luck if you do get one I think they are an awesome specie of snake to own.
That sounds like something I can deal with. I just dont want something as vicious as the retics I have seen. Theyve acted more like a cobra than a python.I have a Borneo short tail python, which are very similar (and sometimes considered) a 'blood python'
She is a jerk. She wants to eat me. I love her because I think they are a wicked snake (I'm more a reptile guy than arachnids actually...18 snakes, about the same number of lizards), but I don't think you should expect them to be a nice calm, ball python like 'pet'. They can get pretty nasty, but when they are nice, they are super niceThey get big and fat, and if they ARE nasty, they strike FAST and with their whole body. It's intense.
