That's not moss.

Maybe not the kind your used to it's scotch moss not the very best terrarium moss but I've had great success with it. I just don't trim mine and let it grow long so it looks more like a crazy grass. It also flowers in the spring.

They don't use their eyes to hunt, so no need to worry on that. As long as it's behaving normally, just enjoy your pet. Hopefully next molt will take care of that, it usually does.
