Black Widow sac

The first sac this season was back in late May. Things went well and I even kept a single specimen. I was only a little surprised a couple of weeks ago when she made a second sac

but then a couple of days ago she decided that 2 wasn't enough and...
she didn't look to hot after finishing the second one, but a nice fat cricket got her back to speed. I'll soon have more baby blackwidows than I could shake a stick at lol.

That's sweet! My first love of invertebrates and yes, you are going to have two litters as numerous as sand near the sea. You would be surprised how many Widowlings come out of a single small eggsac but two?! Congratulations once again, you are becoming a regular arachnomaternity ward. Hehe. Thanks for sharing the pics. ;)

Oh yeah, are you planning on moving the eggsacs to a more airtight container? I can easily imagine the Widowlings spilling out of the ventilation holes.

BTW... what species is that? Latrodectus variolus maybe?
