Black spot on mexican red knee sling

i have a mexican red knee sling and its got a black spot on the back of its abdomen. is this normal??

If its just a single spot, than yeah, the urticating patch. The abdomen will be uniformly dark if it was an upcoming molt.

its like a shiny black spot on the back of abdomen, about half the size of it. is it anything to worry about??

Yeah it's the urticating patch.
It is part of their anatomy and nothing to worry about.

If it's that small it's an urticating patch.

It is part of their anatomy and nothing to worry about[SUP]*[/SUP].
*as long as you don't go rubbing your face/eyes all over it!

Op, you're mentioning that the black spot is also shiny leads me to believe your t is even closer to impending molt than if there were no associated patina. Just kick back and watch- although it still might be a looong wait if you chose to do it that way! Good luck! T
