A day after I was bit by the 7in. H. gigas I was biten by a 4in. H. longipendum. I dont know, somthings wrong with me or somthing, I'm still waiting for the venom to get out my system... I've been drinking a ton of water and am taking benedryl allergy once a day, I dont know what else to do. I'm going to the doctors hopefully tomorrow. I'm getting outa the old worlds definatley. I guess i'm questioning my ability now. I'll try to put some T's for sale in a minute. Sometimes its gets kinda bad and I lay down and try to go to sleep. I just hurt in various places, ect. I'll robably get alot of backlash but seriously I don't need it. I'll tr to work through this situation, and eliminate any possibilitys of a situation like this happeneing again.
Later,
Steve

Omy

Really Poecilotheria, again?

wow you have the worst luck.

I don't keep many OWers but I do keep a King Baboon.

what you need is to learn that, they are not fuzzy animals that you can be comfortable when you are near. Put the species like if it was a prison and give it respect, don't bother it and you'll do fine. If you ask me, you need to be more responsible and catious.

but then again who am to tell you anything, I'm not you parents.

have a nice day

So does this make 3 bites in one month?? Unbelievable. You should not be allowed to keep T's if all of this is even true. I have NEVER heard of such a thing!!

Hmmmm. 3rd time the charm? For all of those who thought we were just attacking Steve, a 4in. H. longipendum this time. Why not.

I have a few more t's that he can borrow if he wants to be a bite test dummy. Let's say a 8" Poecilotheria regalis, a 6" Pamphobeteus platyomma and a 5" Ceratogyrus bechuanicus for starters. Or we can just save the time and say we did.

Steve!!! Why don't you ever respond to the posts about you??? Several people have asked you questions and you never reply.

BTW, if you didn't want any backlash don't post your ignorance for the world to read.

WTF?!?

Ok, this is sheer unadulterated stupidity, wether the tales are true or not! I'm no longer witholding my opinions pending details of "how it happened"...

STEVE: YOU ARE A THREAT TO FREEDOM OF THE HOBBY AT LARGE!!!

AND FOR GODS SAKE, DON'T TELL THIS IDIOT TO GET FISH OR HE'LL WIND UP TRYING TO PET A SALT WATER VOLITAN LIONFISH NEXT!!! (OR AT LEAST "SAYING" HE WAS STUNG BY ONE!)

...and if you had any intelligence at ALL you'd have read the resulting thread from your LAST PROCLAIMED BOUT OF STUPIDITY and had the common sense that God gave a housefly not to post this episode wether it happened or not!!!

I'M UTTERLY DISGUSTED!!

This kind of attention seeking is definitely dangerous to the hobby. How many people here lurked for a bit, picked up some info, did their research etc., before going to buy their first T? Imagine a newbie or some youngster's parents, a schoolteacher and so on, reading this crap. The bad publicity travels 100 times faster than any positive publicity in this hobby. How many people have heard "happy" wivestales about spiders before they actually got into the hobby? How many people have heard (one of the hundred) BS negative wivestales about spiders? See what I mean?

I hate to publicly discredit someone but in this case, I feel it's quite necessary for those of us who have a real passion for what the hobby is all about.

no kidding. maybe its time for a visit from the arachnocutioner, you know to help him dissapear.;P j/k

seriously though this is absurd. the only way you've been bitten by all these t's is if you have virtually forced them into it. if this is true, then for the sake of all who love this hobby, stop. if its all bs, which i think is more likely, then stop. if you want attention there are lots of other ways of getting it without destroying the foundation of something that i and everyone else here hold very dear.

Uh, yeah, well....... Sure, whatever.

If you do indeed have these animals quit tormenting them into biting you. That must be what you are doing if you are telling the truth at all. This is dangerous to the hobby, and I'm tired of seeing this stuff on here.

I'm sorry, with responsible care this kind of thing just DOES NOT HAPPEN. 3 bites in one month? That is bullcrap.

I am left at concluding that whether true or not you are just here for the attention at this point because you can't possibly expect sympathetic pats on the back for this one. A Heteroscodra, Hysterocrates, and Haplopelma in a bit over 2 weeks time? My mind boggles at contemplating what it would take to get bit by these 3 spiders in such a short period of time (or even over a period of several years).

The only people I know of who have bit multiple times are large scale dealers who have handled and transferred several thousand Ts and/or people who do a lot of wild collection where situations are not so controlled as is *easily* managed for an already captive T. Yet you allegedly somehow managed to do so in the calm privacy of your home already knowing that you'd been doing something very, very wrong.

If true, I am sorry you've experienced such negative things in such a short period, but I hope that you have learned your lesson and get out of this hobby. Tarantulas aren't rocket science, even the so-called aggressives, but they are clearly beyond your capabilities.

This is reminding me of that guy who overdosed and died while broadcasting over the internet on his webcam. Honestly, is Steve grabbing his Ts and jamming their fangs into his skin?

Alright people....

First of all yes, he deserves it. But 200 people posting to harp on him about it will either A) go in one ear and out the other, as in the past, or B) feed the attention monster... neither are desireable. I think he gets the idea...

Steve, I hope you're recovering OK from your bites (assuming they happened), and I also hope you get rid of your OW/"hots" asap. There are plenty of people who can keep them responsibly, and I'm sure they'd be more than happy to take them off your hands... maybe you should get a pulchra or smithi or something.

I know this may seem cheeky and to an extent un-caring, but is there any chance of you constructing a bite report for the Haplopelma? I

I'm not doubting you, though I'm not getting sucked in, I'm on the fence here, I just think you should at least re-shape your misfortunes into ways that will interest/inspire others...

Where did it bite you by the way

I was on the fence, too. Two bites is possible with just a few stupid mistakes....But the third time is a charm -- Either you're faking it for attention or just incapable of keeping them, heh.

I do doubt that he was faking atleast the H. Maculata bite because, I confess, I took them off his hands. They're sitting about 10 feet away from me. Never came close to biting. Never showed aggressive even while transfering.

Maybe he's just another troll.

Yeah, I might agree with you on the troll part valael...

I mean, you just can get bitten ... Getting bitten twice in 1 month is just stupid, and a lot of ppl here have told him that he is a total nut for being bitten again, and he should only keep NW spiders.
Now that he's been bitten again, wouldn't you think he would be ashamed, and just not tell it? I know I would!
Therefor I think this is just a bunch of bs...

Dennis
