Best Model Insect?

Which model-insects has a better all-round balance in terms of general biological research value in your opinion?

I choose Blatta lateralis for their hardiness, ease of care, and incredible prolific capabilities.

Probably Periplaneta americana. They've been used in labs since foreverrrrr.
At least, that's my choice for hemimetabolic insects.

but really, fruit flies, a no brainer!

fruit flies hands down. their quick maturation rate, high evolvability with genes, rapid reproduction rate, and easy care make them a "no-brainer"

used them for years in biology labs, and got great results in a very very short time frame.
